Lucas is an associate at Lotz & Company, and he recently graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia where he completed his Juris Doctor with a concentration in business law.

During his time at law school, Lucas completed an externship at Mountain Equipment Company as part of the Corporate Counsel Externship offered at Allard.  Lucas also volunteered with Amici Curiae Friendship Society where he helped self-represented litigants prepare legal forms.

Prior to law school, Lucas attended the University of Victoria where he obtained his B.Sc. (with distinction), majoring in kinesiology and minoring in business.
